Mozhii AI is a Tamil-first large language assistant designed to understand user queries in English, Tamil, or Sinhala and respond only in fluent Tamil. Built on the powerful LLaMA 3.1 base model with a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system at its core, Mozhii Lite combines real-time retrieval from a structured Tamil knowledge base with advanced Tamil reasoning and generation.
This hybrid architecture ensures that responses are grounded in factual, up-to-date information while maintaining natural and culturally relevant Tamil language output. As part of a larger ecosystem, Mozhii AI also includes community-driven Tamil data collection and automated data cleaning agents, enabling continuous improvement and eventual fine-tuning of the model for superior performance.
